Who are you and what do you do?
“I'm, Tanzia and I am a trainee social worker in last year of my MA”
Is there a book you would recommend to people to read or that has inspired you?
“The Rumi series definitely the volume, you know the collections and Wordsworth has been a favourite from a young age and well so many where to start. Hmmmm.....so off the top of my head and in no particular order-The Monk sold his ferari (Robin A Sharma), The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho), Norwegian Wood (Haruki Murakami), The Prophet (Kahlil Gibran), To kill a mockingbird (Harper Lee), Gandhi (Autobiography) and Jonathan Livingstone Seagull (Richard Bach)
Is there a person who has inspired you in your life, present day of historical figure?
“My mother and the way she dealt with her personal life as a wife and adjusting from Bangladesh to the UK. Her sacrifice and compromises. I think about the little amount we put up with and it's telling of the state of marriages now. Theres people who have oinspired me too like Maya Angelou, Stephen Hawkings, Princess Diana, Hemingway and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
When you hear the word legacy what do you feel or think?
“I'd love to leave one behind and make something of my life, you know, family career and legacy doesn't have to be huge just something like good work.”
Have you thought about your own legacy and if so in what capacity?
“ I want to do a lot in terms in my career but haven't ascertain exactly where. I want to make an impact on social policy and foreign policy because I want to look into honour killings trafficking.”
What advice would you give to the 20 year old you?
"Don't let the wounds of your past shape your future, make all the mistakes you want for without experiences we have nothing and don't avoid the things that make you anxious-face them head on and conquer the fear because if you don't-you will still have the same anxieties when you are older and it will be 100 times harder to overcome them then"
Often as part of life we go through challenges, what do you say or do as a pick me up?
“Things could be worse”
